1850 Foot Officer’s Sword. Shagreen grip with brass wire, cast brass hand guard and cap, ricasso on left side of blade stamped “Ames Mfg Co/Chicopee/Mass”, blade etched with floral scrolls “U.S.”, ricasso on right side of blade stamped on “US/GGS/1861”, blade etched with floral scrolls, a federal eagle, a banner reading “E Pluribus Unum” and “Ames Mfg Co/Chicopee/Mass”, very good condition overall. No scabbard.
